PHIL & TED'S DOUBLE PRAM

I'm going on a family holiday to the US in December and over the last few months, I've been slowly accumulating all manner of 'useful' stuff for traveling with two babies. One of the things on my wishlist was a double stroller.

At first we thought we would make do with our current Aprica stroller and we bought a Gelite Backpack/Stroller for our 1 year old. But then after testing it out at home, the backpack stroller was just too heavy for my husband. My son weighs 10kg, so the Gelite stroller... is now kind of obsolete. Anyone want to buy a brand new, never been used Gelite stroller? Lol!

Anyway, I had seen the Phil & Teds strollers around town and I thought it looked like quite an efficient stroller, so I started reading reviews etc. Then finally, I looked around and found a great second hand one in really good condition! Only 8 months old and hardly used. (Pic below demonstrates how my 3 and 1 year olds fit in the pram - but pic not of my children!)

So far we've taken it on a couple of test runs around the malls and here's my analysis:
1. I really like the slimline double stroller. Good when both kids want to nap.
2. Almost impossible to get up the escalators with this pram. I know it's not really allowed but I never have trouble with my Aprica. This pram is long and heavy, so it's hard to balance on the escalator.
3. Nowhere to hang my diaper bag without hitting my kids head. So I had to buy the Phil & Teds 'Saddle Bags' which attach to the sides for storing stuff - the bags themselves have no compartments within, so have had to use ziplocks to separate clothes, bottles etc.
4. Folding and storing is a hassle as you have to disconnect the doubles attachment and reattach to the front of the pram. This stroller is definitely not for quick in/out of the mall type trips.

WELCOME!

Welcome to Try It Mummy!

I'm a stay at home mum with two little ones. As you know, children are expensive things. To clothe, equip and educate them costs a bomb!

I spend lots of time surfing the net for reviews of stuff for my kids, so I thought, why not share all my research with all the mummies out there! We all want the best for our kids, so I hope I will help by reviewing when I try stuff out :)

Let the trying begin!
